Eva’s Christmas message for her little sister. I’m such a lucky Mom. Hey Manu, I heard from Santa that you wanted some clothes, so I got you a set of pants and matching top from an Indonesian brand called SukkhaCitta. Sukkha Citta is a sustainable fashion line, which means it is eco-friendly (doesn’t damage the environment), also they treat their workers very kindly. Did you know that the fast fashion industry is the biggest contributor to global warming after oil? Horrible, right? So, next time, before we shop/buy clothes, we should do our research first: 1. Where do they get their textile? 2. Do they treat their workers fairly? We need to start paying attention to the small things and make sure that we do our part to protect Mother Earth. Use these well. Love, Kak Eva (Our family’s resolution for these coming years is to lessen our carbon footprints by eating and buying things more mindfully. No more buying useless expensive clothing and bags for the sake of only looking cooler. Yes, it looks nice to impress people in by wearing these bright expensive bags and clothes, but if by doing so you only did harm to Mother Earth, what’s the point? Plus, I think for someone that’s kind of in the public eye, it’s our responsibility by setting those examples, in hope of perhaps a few could follow 😊.)
