Mentally Unstable Man Exposed Genital to Wings Air Flight Attendant

Liputan6.com, Makassar - A flight attendant of Wings Air became the victim of sexual harassment after a 30-something man allegedly exposed his genital. The incident took place in the air when the plane was en route to Jakarta.

The man exposed his genital in the toilet after pulling in the 23-year-old flight attendant. Her colleague also witnessed the incident.

The Wings Air airplane IW-2333 was flying from Morowali in Central Sulawesi to the Indonesian capital Jakarta. Wings Air is part of the Lion Air Group.

The 37-year-old harasser was quickly arrested after the incident. He was later handled by Aviation Security (Avsec) during the airplane transit in the International Airport Sultan Hasanuddin in Makassar, South Sulawesi, Friday (21/10).

The local police in Makassar acknowledged the incident did happen, although the victim did not make an immediate report on the same day. She was expected to file a report on Sunday.

But on Sunday (23/10/2022), the case ended in peace after police has found the perpetrator is having mental illness. Police also saw the man's mental health document. 

"After knowing that, the victim gave tolerance," said Arsyad, the Chief of Sectoral Police in the Sultan Hasanuddin International Airport area.

The police also said the victim did not directly see the man's genital, although she was pulled inside the toilet. 

"I had an interrogation about the harassment. So it was indeed the hand of the flight attendant was seized and pulled in. But she admitted not to see the genital, although the zipper of the perpetrator was open, because he was about to pee," Arsyad added.
