Indonesia Energy Sector to Accept German Bank 2 Billion Euro Loan

German Development Bank (Kreditanstalt fur Wiederaufbau) has injected 300 million Euro to Indonesia for 2015 alone.

Liputan6.com, Jakarta German's Development Bank or what is well known as Kreditanstalt fur Wiederaufbau (KFW) has decided to give a generous loan of 2 billion Euro which is equivalent to Rp 31 trillion to Indonesia as a sign of support for the archipelago nation's newly established renewable energy development. 

Such generous gesture of the German's Development Bank in injecting large fund  could largely help the Indonesian government under President Joko 'Jokowi' Widodo attain its energy development goals. 

KFW representative in Indonesia, Cristoph Twerenbold informs how his company is determined to help Indonesia attain full scale development particularly in the electricity energy sector that is environmentally- friendly.

"In this particular context, Indonesia is given the privilege of loan for payment on energy sources, hydropower, geothermal heat, solar power and electricity network and decentralization for major areas within Java island and Bali," Twerenbold said during Energy Dialogue held in Jakarta, Tuesday (1/9/2015).

According to Twerenbold, KFW is determined to help Indonesia grow in this particular sector by lending Rp 31 trillion up to the year of 2019.

"So, 2 billion Euro is already on the pipeline and ready to be distributed for Indonesia only. We are keen to discuss further regarding financial matter with relevant Ministries such as Finance Ministry and have it further examines by the State Electricity Enterprise (PLN)," he continued.

Twerenbold further informs the fact that KFW has injected 300 million Euro for 2015 alone. (Akp/Ein)
