Liputan6.com, Jakarta - Jakarta regional Police Force advises for the general public to remain calm and avoid panicking over the recently issued series of terror threats within Jakarta region. They assured the fact that the capital city is so far under strict supervision.

“While it is true that a series of bomb threats have been issued throughout Jakarta region, it is actually the police force that becomes the terrorist actual target. But surely we have anticipated those threats long before their plans were recognized by the general public,” Chief of Jakarta Police, Tito Karnavian spoke on Friday 25 December 2015.

Tito explained how his department already acknowledged such threats that were planned to take be actualized through conduction of terror moments leading up to Christmas and New Years Eve but the department initially refused to frighten the public and therefore such information was yielded then to avoid widespread of panic.

“Yes it is true, we have already heard that such threat was imminent but we refused to announce it until now that we feel that we have exerted all of our efforts to secure the region,” he further stated.

“We are now cooperating with the country’s National Counter-terrorism agency, Indonesia’s Special Detachment Force, Indonesian Police Force and the regional police department,” he concluded.
