Greenpeace Indonesia Outlines Fisheries Ministry Drawbacks

Greenpeace Indonesia thinks Fisheries Ministry is missing two important points to rescue its maritime's well being.

Liputan6.com, Jakarta - Indonesia has been desiring the position of one of the most powerful maritime nations in the world, and such desire may reach actualization only if the Maritime and Fisheries Ministry takes into account integrating regional data of fleet to the central one. So that they can continually monitor the amount o fishes that have been successfully caught by the Indonesian fleet.

Such notion is being presented by 'Greenpeace Indonesia' whose ambition is to maintain the continuation of fisheries and maritime sustenance, so that the aforementioned desire can be reached with no hindrance.

Apart from that, they could also trace the likeliness of the fishes being possibly caught by foreigners through such integrated system.

"It is very unfortunate to know the fact that our fisheries fleet data of the regional ones have not yet been integrated with the central one. It is even more shameful to know that the system is already present, what we are missing is the willingness or any execution action governing such integration. Such 'data miss' clearly suggests the fact that involving Ministries and regional government voluntarily overlook such necessary move," Greenpeace Indonesia Campaign Leader, Arifsyah Nasution said, Jakarta, Monday (21/9/2015).

Greenpeace Indonesia also suggested the avoidance of using trawl or any instrument similar to that kind that may damage the lives under the sea, and proven to be harmful for the caught fishes itself. (Akp/Tnt)
