Liputan6.com, Jakarta The Indonesian Search and Rescue Agency (Basarnas) at the Bangka Belitung Province has provided 200 units of body bags to evacuate the passengers of AirAsia QZ8501 that was announced to have been missing since Sunday 28 December 2014. The 200 units of body bags were distributed to the the Search and Rescue team at Pangkalan Bun where all the evidence are gathered.
"Currently, the Search and Rescue team are heading for Pangkalan Bun to distribute the body bags. Hopefully, the evacuation of victims body can be done quickly," said the Deputy of potential Search and Rescue Agency, young Marsekal of Indonesian Armed Forces Sunarbowo Sandi at Pangkalpinang, Tuesday (30/12/2014).
He explains how since the discovery around Pangkalan Bun, the search in other places such as the area in East Belitung will be put into a halt and focus will be centred around Pangkalan Bun.
"There will only be very few personnel deployed around the East Belitung Area and Pangkalpinang. While the rest will have to set their focus on finding evidence around Pangkalan Bun where most of it was found," Sunarbowo said.
The head of the Search and Rescue Team (SAR) Bambang Sulistyo has previously claimed that the debris found belongs to AirAsia QZ8501.
"I want to assure you that those objects found are parts of the plane we have been seeking for (AirAsia QZ8501)," Bambang Sulistyo shared at the Basarnas Office, Kemayoran, Jakarta.
His judgment is based on the information obtained and monitoring result of the field commander which support the notion of the recently found debris to be the emergency exit door of the aircraft.
"I want to assure all that 95% locations that have been illustrated through the photographs are the locations where the debris or objects belonging to the aircraft was found," Bambang said.
The aircraft carrying 155 passengers was flying from Juanda International Airport at 05.36 am local time and lost contact with the air traffic controller as soon as it reached the area of Belitung with latitudes of 108.50.07 03:22:46 EL.
Among the 155 passengers were 138 adults, 16 children and one infant. Apart from that, a number of passengers belong to various countries including Singapore, The United kingdom, Malaysia, South Korea and France. (Akp/Riz)
