Liputan6.com, Jakarta Indonesian President Joko ‘Jokowi’ Widodo is due to officially open Fatahillah mosque within the Indonesia’s capital city government compound. Located nearby the City Hall, Fatahillah mosque may well be considered as the first one to be built within the City Hall’s complex.
“Yes it is now ready. It was postponed for a couple of weeks but now it is ready,” Jakarta Governor Basuki Tjahaja Purnama said, Friday (29/1/2016).

Governor Basuki claims that the mosque’s establishment within the compound is necessitated as previously the government only has musala or smaller scale function room used by Muslims to pray when the location of mosques are too far to be reached.
“I think that that at least now the City Hall has its own mosque foe the people here to pray in. We used to own just musala,” Governor Basuki explained.
The mosque built is readied at a grand scale thus that it can facilitate a large number of people who want to pray there and for the government civil servants there to no longer have a problem finding a place to perform their Islamic religious duty together.
The upper case of the mosque is decorated with a tower and dome that are large in size. That were designed to help people locate the mosque within the government compound.
