Liputan6.com, Jakarta - The conflict between Russia and Ukraine is no longer unfamiliar to many people. It has not just created a considerable scale of turmoil domestically within Ukraine, but it has also generated concern among worldwide nations.

The common misperception that has populated the minds of the larger proportion out of the total of global audience is that the issue roots down to merely territorial disputes over Crimea.

Many resorts to hasty accusations claiming that Russia should be held accountable for warmongering the crisis in Ukraine, with arguably very little knowledge to justify their claims.

Such provocative argument surely invites popular outcry from the Russian side.

On 26 of June 2015, Liputan6.com was given the rare opportunity to unravel the case by exploring it from the perspective of Russian Ambassador to Indonesia, Mikhael Galuzin.

Ambassador Mikhael was prepared enough to rebut such claim and explained how the issue is not as simple as merely fighting over a considerably small portion of land right below the Ukrainian country.

"We are not and we will not be an impetus of any crisis anywhere including Ukraine," Ambassador Mikhael responded to question regarding Russia’s involvement in initiating the Ukrainian crisis.

But he also believes that the crisis is quite inevitable knowing the two currently conflicting countries are geographically situated next to each other with Ukraine used to be part of the USSR.

This makes it impossible for each nation’s domestic issues to not generate an impact on one another.

"The issue of Ukraine is very sensitive for us because Ukraine is our neighbor, we are linked by myriads of ties, political, cultural, economic, personal and even family ties," Ambassador Mikhael immediately revealed the complexity of the conflict.

Sharing many backgrounds mean that the two will face difficulty in trying to separate one conflict from another.

Having said that, Russia is aware of the dire consequences for both nations if the matter is not taken seriously. (Akp/Rie)
