Liputan6.com, Jakarta The Indonesian Foreign Ministry has just released a statement suggesting the fact that violent method is being used on previously held hostage Indonesians by the Cambodian gambling boss.

Additionally, reports also suggest that the violent method used is described to be the one just like what a mafia does to its hostage.

"During hostage situations, 16 Indonesians were being violently abused," Indonesian Foreign Ministry informed through press conference, Thursday (28/5/2015).

"They were also threatened using electrocuting tool by the owner of the casino, Lim Pek," statement from press conference continued.

According to the Indonesian Foreign Ministry, these hostages were too frightened to report such barbaric act as they claimed that their every move was being monitored by the casino's hit man.

Furthermore, these thugs were also present at the meeting held between the Indonesian embassy in Cambodia and the foreign ministry.

They were the ones responsible for the such criminal acts on the hostages.

The Indonesian government will not just remain silent on this case especially after its development showing an evidently negative trend.

The government is determined to use all its legal force to find these culprit and coordinate with local government to punish them accordingly.

16 Indonesians departed from Batam to Singapore in March 2015. Their trip continued until they embarked in Cambodia where they professed as workers in a casino.

They felt homesick and wanted to head back to Indonesia. The man who took them to Cambodia ran away with money valuing at Rp 2,1 billion.

The casino blamed them for the missing cash and ended up torturing them like how a mafia does it. (Akp/Ein)
