Liputan6.com, Jakarta Indonesia is on its path towards promoting its domestic products abroad in an attempt to increase the exports production. Not just in agriculture and other sectors, Indonesian- made furniture is now being widely acknowledged in the global market. This is proven through the buying mission which was initiated by the General Directorate of the National Export Development (PEN) from the Ministry of Trade. They reports show a successful transaction as much as US$ 1,3 million last week. This is an impressive trend that clearly shows Indonesian exports is being appreciated by the worldwide markets.
The director of Promotion Development from the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Pradnyawati explains how the buying mission was a newly emerging initiative made in 2014.

"Furniture importers from Germany, Index Living GmbH has sign a product purchase contract worth of US$ 1,3 million with 5 prominent Indonesian furniture companies," she said through a written statement, Jakarta, Wednesday (18/03/2015).
The four Indonesian furniture companies are, House of Rattan from Cirebon, Yogya Indo Global from Yogyakarta, Woodwork Interior from Jepara and Nuansa Kayu Bekas from Solo.
House of Rattan is a furniture company located at Jalan Tegalwangi Km 09, Cirebon. They have exported 120-150 containers each month to the other countries such as America which cover 70& of it, Euope 30% and 20% to Asian and African nations. House of Ratta has cooperated with a number of big importers such as retail shops in the United States, Pier 1 Crate and barrel as well as Williams- Sonoma.
Index Living GmbH alone is am importer from a retail furniture shop originating from Germany that has franchises all over the world including Indonesia to present the furnitures made in Indonesia.
"One of Index Living primary considerations is to continue importing from Indonesia because Indonesian products are evidently high in standards, environmentally friendly and relevant to the consumers in German," she further explains.
Pradnyawati also explains how the V0 Legal document owned by the local companies have helped Indonesian furniture companies to have the potentiality to compete in the international market.
"With the widely discussed topic regarding environmentally friendly and sustainable of trade, it is confirmed that Indonesia is able to compete in the global market through its V- Legal documents," she added.
As has been learned, Indonesia is positioned at rank 19 in the world as an exporter of furniture. In 2014 alone, the total furniture exports from Indonesia has benefited the country as much as US$ 1,78 billion. Despite the negative trend it experienced by 1,46%, the increase in the last one year is quite promising. That is by 2,18%. (Akp/Ein)
