Liputan6.com, Laut Jawa The attempt to lift the tail part of AirAsia QZ 8501 out of the Java sea by Joint divers team from TNI Navy is still ongoing process. Previous endeavours have proven to be partially successful yet still not a satisfying matter as the whole tail part remains underwater. Of course, this is a mission deemed difficult for any forces to undergo as challenges also present during the operation.

"We have a sling and balloon, we will attach it to the Grestonics ship whose power is arounf 60 tons, hopefully we can carry it out of the ocean," TNI Commander General Moeldoko explained as he monitored the lifting of AirAsia QZ8501 mission at KRI Banda Aceh, Java Sea, Friday (09/01/2015).

Moeldoko further explains how the first batch of divers team have been successful in attaching the tail part to the floating bag or balloon. The process following to that will involve the inflating of the balloon so that it can slowly drag the object upward and the attachment of it to the crane belonging to SKK Migas, Grestonics.

"We have attached it, we just a need a hand from the ship using a sling, we have already attached 3 balloons. As I have said before, we have tried dragging it out of the ocean, but it is still underwater," Moeldoko said.

The joined efforts to take the tail part of AirAsia QZ8501 have been established and done since Thursday. However, it was being postponed due to the extreme current at the bottom of the sea, exacerbated by the zero visibility underwater and muddy surface surrounding the site. (Akp/Ein)
