Russia Anticipates Potential Act of Terror Prior to World Cup

Russian Ambasador to Indonesia Mikhail Galuzin said addressing Syrian issue necessitated to avoid act of terror.

Liputan6.com, Jakarta - Russia will be hosting the world cup for the first time ever This year’s World Cup matches will commence on the 14th of June through to the 15th of July involving the use of dozens facilities in over 33 Russian cities which include: St. Petersburg, Moscow, Kazan, Nizhny, Novgorod, Saransk, Kaliningrad, Volgograd, Yekaterinburg, Samara, Sochi and Rostov-on-Don.

Luzhniki arena of Moscow city will be the first facility used for the preliminary FIFA football match on the 14th June 2018 and as many as 45,000 people will be contributing to the successes behind such festive sporting event.

During a press briefing held today (5/11/2015) at residence of Russian Ambassador to Indonesia, the Ambassador of Russia to Indonesia, Mr. Mikhail Galuzin shares that security is an important aspect that ought to be considered prior to the conduction of such festive event.

Due to several potential threats coming from various alarming parties currently having conflict with Russia. Mr.Mikhail Galuzin explains that his country has conducted intensive preparations to assure the safety of everyone during the event including the intelligence counterparts from participating nations.

“We have cooperated on the ground with representatives of intelligence agency of each participating countries. Law enforcement agencies will address issue of potential terrorist activity, communicate with counterparts of participating countries,” he stated.

He also said that in anticipating potentiality of an act of terror being performed during the event, addressing issue in Syria is highly necessitated.

“Addressing Syrian conflict, before it worsens is deemed important,” he concluded. (Akp/Tnt)
