Liputan6.com, Jakarta The Indonesian Vice President, Jusuf Kalla has just recently launched the opening of the post-graduate building of Muhammadiyah University in Yogyakarta. Apart from the aforementioned building, he also took time to launch JK School of Government. Vice President Jusuf Kalla points out the importance of establishing schools and/or universities that are not just mere ‘museum’ but a platform for creativity expansion as well as the opportunity to develop inventions previously unknown.
"What is the difference between university and musem? Museum looks back into the past, dwell on the past and praised what have had happened in the past but our generation has to be proud of their future as well and so they need to look into the future instead of the past," JK said, Yogyakarta, Saturday (07/03/2015).

JK thinks it is imperative for the Indonesian education to be better improved as it is one of the vital keys for the nation’s progress and to compete with other nations. It is important to note that neighbouring countries have progressed so well not basing it on the resources they have but the quality of education there. With more intelligent individuals, the nation will be better taken care of and many sectors will be managed by these people. It is time for Indonesia to generate more intelligent people instead of adding the number of those who still dwell in the past.
"Knowledge is the key here. It has developed and progressed overtime, and we have to catch up with it. Without flexibility, proper research, we would be far behind other nations. Knowledge materials gain each day, each month, each year, we should not miss out on any of them," he continued.
JK uses Japan as an example to show how intelligent individuals are the foundations of a well- developed, continually progressing nation. Apart from, JK also encourages all the graduated post-graduate students to continue keeping their educational options open as knowledge will continue to be renewed each day and there will something more to learn each day.
JK expresses his gratitude and appreciation as the building or the faculty is named after him, JK School of Government. He points out the need for young generation to be taught innovative information as the foundation for a better future. (Akp/Ein)
