Liputan6.com, Central Jakarta - Metropolitan Police in Jakarta already investigasted the identity of a middle-aged man who kidnapped a little girl last December. The man kidnapped the girl in broad daylight in Central Jakarta.

According to the police, the man is named Iwan Sumarno (42) who also uses aliases Jacky, Yudi, and Herman.

Police also confirmed the man was involved in a lewd case and convicted.

"After we investigate it, the person named Iwan Sumarno was on trial with a seven years sentence for lewd act," said Police Chief Commissioner Komarudin of the Central Jakarta Resort Police, Monday (2/1/2023).

That was not the only legal problem that Iwan faced. He was also involved in a case of illegal possession of a vehicle in Jakarta. The police already recognized his photo in that case.

Moreover, the police have spread Iwan's photo on social media. Komarudin asks the public to inform the police if they find any clues.

"The team in the field is still hunting the perpetrator, but surely with the identity and photo that we are spreading, hopefully it will be easier and narrowing the moving space for the perpetrator," said Komarudin.

Previously reported, a man kidnapped a girl in Gunung Sahari, Central Jakarta. The girl did not resist when she was taken. The man apparently liked to give a present to the girl and a familiar figure to her family.

The name of the girl has been widely published as Malika. She is 6-year-old.

The Chief of Metropolitan Resort Police of Central Jakarta Komarudin explained that the police have investigated several witnesses including a bajaj (three wheeler vehicle) driver who drove the alleged kidnapper and the victim to the Kota Station area, West Jakarta.

The bajaj driver said that he did not realize it was kidnapping. He simply thought it was just a kid who went together with her parent.

After the police received the information, it was then revealed that the alleged kidnapper is a scavenger, Komarudin said at the Metropolitan Regional Police last December.

Komarudin also said that the police looked into the CCTV footage that went viral on social media.
